We normally use two kinds of number systems broadly in mathematical world. The two number systems are

2. International Number system
The difference between Indian number system and International number system:
- In Indian number system Lakhs, Crores are used from six digits onwards. Whereas in International number system, million, billions are used to represent the numbers which has 6 or more digits.
Eg:
2. In the Indian system of numbers starting from the right, the first period ( or comma) is of three digits , that is , “Ones, Tens , Hundreds”, and rest of the periods, each of two digits.
In international system of numbers each period is of three digits.
These systems can be extended to left.
Examples of writing numbers in Indian and International system of numbers:
Numeral : 5653212
International system :5,653,212
Number name( in words) : Five million six hundred fifty three thousands two hundred twelve
Indian system : 56,53,212
Number name: Fifty six lakhs fifty three thousand two hundred twelve.
